Analysis of the application prospects of CPVC by polytetrafluoroethylene pipe manufacturers shows that after chlorination modification of PVC, high-performance materials such as CPVC are obtained. At present, the use of CPVC in China is still in the development stage, but CPVC rods have shown obvious advantages in the following categories:
1、 The thermal conductivity of CPVC pipes used for oil field crude oil gathering and transportation is only 1/200 of that of steel pipes. The insulation function of crude oil during the gathering and transportation process is excellent, which can save a lot of energy. Other CPVC pipes have a small friction coefficient, and their flow rate is at least 1.25 times that of steel pipes under the same conditions. They are also lightweight and easy to install. Its excellent chemical stability and temperature resistance, together with the inherent advantages of abrasion resistance and non scaling of plastic pipes, make it show obvious advantages in crude oil gathering and transportation, and its service life is at least 8 times that of steel pipes. After being wrapped and reinforced with glass fiber (GF), the service pressure can reach 20-60MPa, which can basically meet the requirements of crude oil gathering and transportation under low, medium, and high pressure conditions.
2、 CPVC for chemical pipelines, plates, and sheets has good temperature resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, making it able to withstand strong acid, alkali, and salt water corrosion. The maximum operating temperature can reach 95-98 ℃, and it can also meet the mechanical strength required in chemical equipment. The expected service life can reach 50 years. In addition, the oxygen index of CPVC data is greater than≥ 50%, with excellent flame retardancy and smoke suppression properties, is the ideal (aspiring specialty store) information for chemical equipment that needs to meet fire protection needs. If the processing technology and installation are appropriate, CPVC pipes can have reliable sealing functions, solving the problems of running, emitting, dripping, and leaking in chemical production. In short, CPVC surpasses ABS and UPVC in terms of functionality and will be their replacement product.
3、 The appropriate process and formula should be selected for the water supply and drainage pipelines used for hot water and warm water. CPVC can be produced into large-diameter pipelines and can be connected with the most reliable and convenient expansion socket flexible sealing ring currently available. This is not possible for pipelines such as PP-R, PE-X, and aluminum plastic composite pipes. Therefore, it has a large space for use in industries, mines, construction, power hot springs, and other professions that need to transport hot water and warm water.
4、 For occasions with strict fire protection requirements, the excellent flame retardancy and smoke suppression properties of CPVC make this material the first choice for plastic products with strict fire protection requirements, including packaging of electronic and electrical products, construction and decoration, transportation facilities (including aviation), and other areas. The prospects for its development are very attractive.
5、 The development of modern cities for the protection of high-voltage and ultra-high voltage power transmission cables requires the underground laying of power transmission cables, which requires cable protection pipes to have excellent heat resistance, insulation, ease of cable laying, and flame retardancy. CPVC pipes precisely have these functions. At present, it has been widely used in this category by some advanced countries, and China has also begun to try this aspect, and has been selected for power grid transformation in some large and medium-sized cities. CPVC, a new type of plastic material, has been rapidly developed and is increasingly valued in China. As a new category in the plastic industry, its prospects are immeasurable.
